PocketPass

Information We Collect and Process

PocketPass processes only the information needed to provide the app, keep your account working, and understand basic app usage.

• Account information: your email address, authentication identifiers, and basic account information made available through Email/Password or Google Sign-In. Authentication is provided by Firebase Authentication.
• Pass data: information you enter in PocketPass, including pass titles, notes, expiry dates, reminder settings, and record timestamps. This data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account.
• Analytics data: PocketPass uses Firebase Analytics to understand basic app usage and improve the app. This can include app interactions, screen information, app/device information, installation or app-instance identifiers, and coarse geographic information derived by Google from network information. PocketPass does not send your pass titles, notes, image paths, Firebase user ID, or email address in its custom analytics events.
• Pass images: images you choose to attach to a pass are copied to PocketPass private storage on your device. PocketPass does not upload the image bytes to Firebase or our servers. A local file reference may be stored with the corresponding pass record.
• Backup files: if you export a PocketPass backup, the app writes a JSON file containing pass metadata to a location you choose. Exported backups do not contain image bytes.

PocketPass does not request access to your contacts or precise location.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• create and authenticate your account;
• store, retrieve, edit, and delete your saved passes;
• schedule and deliver expiry reminders on your device;
• support backup and restore features you choose to use;
• maintain app security and reliability; and
• understand basic feature usage and improve PocketPass.

Advertising and Analytics

PocketPass does not show ads. Advertising-ID collection and ad-personalization signals are disabled in the app. PocketPass uses Firebase Analytics for product analytics only.

Third-Party Services

PocketPass relies on Google services to provide core functionality:

• Firebase Authentication for account creation, sign-in, verification, password reset, and account identity.
• Cloud Firestore for storing PocketPass pass metadata for your account.
• Firebase Analytics for basic app-usage analytics.
• Google Sign-In / Google Play Services when you choose to sign in with Google.

Google may process data as a service provider according to its own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

Data Storage and Security

Data sent between PocketPass and Firebase is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Pass image bytes remain in app-private storage on your device and are not synchronized to Firebase. Android cloud backup and device transfer are configured to exclude PocketPass app data, including local images.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the services PocketPass provides.

Data Retention and Backups

Your PocketPass account and cloud pass data remain associated with your account until you delete the relevant data or delete your account. Local images remain on the device until they are removed by PocketPass as part of the applicable pass/account flow, the app is uninstalled, or app storage is cleared.

Backup files are created only when you choose to export them and are stored wherever you select. You are responsible for the security and deletion of exported backup files outside PocketPass.

Account and Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your PocketPass account from within the app. Open PocketPass, go to the Home menu, choose Delete Account, complete the required reauthentication, and confirm deletion. PocketPass then removes the account's saved pass data and associated app-managed local data before deleting the Firebase Authentication account.

If you no longer have access to the app, you can request account and data deletion by emailing studiosskookum@gmail.com. Please contact us from the email address associated with the PocketPass account when possible so we can verify the request.

Children's Privacy

PocketPass is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as PocketPass changes. The "Last updated" date above will be revised when we publish an updated policy.
